Mittongtare biography
National advertising and editorial clients have used Pornchai Mittongtare’s elegant images to showcase food, still life, consumer products and lifestyle to a wide audience over the last 10 years. He brings together vibrant colors and shapes with exceptional harmony and style, using meticulous planning, technical precision and a gifted sense of composition to render ordinary objects extraordinary.
A third-generation photographer, Pornchai Mittongtare grew up in Thailand and moved to the Los Angeles area in 1987. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and is currently on the faculty of the photography department there.
Pornchai Mittongtare’s studio is a sunny loft space in downtown Los Angeles, where he is able to take advantage of Southern California’s famous, year-‘round natural light. He frequently works with top food and prop stylists from around the region. The studio has a spacious full kitchen equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, and Pornchai and his team use the latest digital technology to craft truly extraordinary images for a wide variety of clients.
